Dr. Christopher Lohans

Dr. Lohans completed his PhD at the University of Alberta with Prof. John Vederas, then joined the lab of Prof. Chris Schofield at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2019, he joined the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen’s University as an Assistant Professor. His current research uses biochemical, microbiological, and biophysical approaches to investigate the mechanisms by which antibiotics interact with resistance enzymes and protein targets, with a focus on β-lactam antibiotics and β-lactamase enzymes.
