Mitchell Jeffs

I am currently a PhD student working in Dr. Lohans` lab in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Science. I received my BSc. Biochemistry from Carleton University in Ottawa. My current research is related to developing methods for the identification of beta-lactamase inhibitors, which we are using to screen compound libraries for novel compounds with activity against metallo-beta lactamases. One of my ultimate goals is to work towards becoming a hospital/diagnostic lab director in clinical chemistry or microbiology. Outside of research I enjoy writing music, kayaking, and biking.
